The Foundry Home is a youth crisis shelter in Carlsbad, New Mexico, providing a safe and supportive place for young people who need somewhere to stay during a difficult time.
We primarily serve youth from Eddy and Lea Counties, although youth form other counties may be considered on an individual basis.
The Foundry Home provides 24-hour support, 7 days a week, year-round. Youth can come directly to the Foundry Home for an eligibility screening.

Who We Serve
The Foundry Home currently provides shelter and support for youth ages 12-17.
Youth may stay at the Foundry Home for up to 21 days, with space available for up to eight youth at a time.
What We Provide
The Foundry Home is more than a place to sleep. We provide a safe environment where youth can take a break, work through challenges, and begin planning for what comes next.
- Youth have their own private bedroom and access to shared living spaces, including a living room and communal kitchen.
- All meals are provided during a youth's stay.
- Individual computer workstations are available for schoolwork, job searches, applications, and other needs.
- Transportation is available for appointments, work, and other approved needs.
- Every young person has their own needs, experiences and goals. Our staff work one-on-one with youth to understand what they need and help them make a plan for moving forward.
- Youth have opportunities to practice everyday skills such as doing their own laundry, washing dishes, and taking care of their personal space.
Support for Your Next Steps
When a young person arrives at the Foundry Home, we take time to understand what they're going through and waht support they need.
Youth receive individualized case management to help them:
- Identify their strengths and needs
- Set personal goals
- Connect with helpful resources and community services
- Work through chellenges
- Build a plan for what comes next
Each youth also completes a Casey Life Skills Assessment. This assessment helps identify strengths and areas where a young person may want additional support, including things like relationships, education and employment, goal-setting, daily living skills, money management, and connecting with supportive adults.

The assessment is used to help each youth set goals that are meaningful and achievable for them.
